DevLog 4 - jess
The vertical slice is progressing slowly but surely. This week we ran into several issues, especially when it came to using GitHub. Basically every time I went to commit my changes to the project, there was hundreds of conflicts and problems. Then, every time I tried to pull other people’s changes, they just didn’t pull for some reason, so I had to delete the entire project from my device every single day in order to pull new changes.
Aside from all of these problems, the assets are coming along well. Most of our 3D models are finished, with just a few left to complete. We will then have to find suitable textures for each model, add colliders, and place the models in the project.
We also need to draw an updated version of the game’s map, as we decided to change the setting of the game from a ranch to a small town. This will make the area feel more claustrophobic and enclosed, creating more tension for the player.
Finally, the fear meter in the game will be replaced with a vignette effect that closes in on the player, to suit the style of the game better. The objects will be spawned in random places around the map, once we figure out how to code that. We also need to fix up a few of our scripts, to make them work in the exact way we want them to.
