DevLog 4 - Laila

Throughout this week, my primary focus has been to refine the core mechanics, and to work on completing a polished vertical slice for the game.

I've mainly touched up minor bugs + issues with the code, particularly with the health bar/jumpscare scripts. I generally wanted to make sure that the monster runs smoothly and can function within the game. As for the vertical slice, I added a few components to fill the scene and environment up a bit more; I placed foliage/shrubbery around the borders of the level, alongside desert backdrops that act as a world boundary. I plan to implement more props and visual elements once the level is more fleshed out so that I can accurately work around the level design & buildings.

We've ran into a few issues with merge conflicts over Github and bugs within the project, however we've made sure to keep back-ups of our work available and communicate issues as a group to work past this. We've also began working together on our main branch as we progress towards a more completed version of the project and our tasks align further, with the aim that it will help reduce conflicts and boost efficiency.

My main goals now are to ensure that the core scripts are tidied and run as they should, continue with the visuals of the vertical slice and soon have a playable demo completed.
